BREAKING: Callaway, TaylorMade 2023 Drivers and Fairways Hit USGA List
The unofficial, “official” launch of the Callaway drivers and fairways has finally arrived, with both OEM’s adding the PARADYM and Stealth 2, respectively, to the USGA’s Conforming List.
Starting with Callaway, it appears that there may be as many as NINE different PARADYM models, available in a variety of loft options:

- Paradym (v1), available in 9° of loft;
- Paradym (v2), available in 8°, 8.5°, 9° and 10.5° of loft;
- Paradym (v3), available in 8.5°, 9° and 10.5° of loft;
- Paradym (v4), available in 8.5°, 9° and 10.5° of loft;
- Paradym (v5), available in 9° and 10.5° of loft;
- Paradym (v6), available in 9° and 10.5° of loft;
- Paradym (v7), available in 9° and 10.5° of loft;
- Paradym Max Fast, available in 9.5°, 10.5° and 12° of loft; and
- Paradym X, available in 9.5°, 10.5° and 12° of loft.
Particularly noteworthy about the USGA images is that certain PARADYM models, including Versions 1, 3 and 6, will feature a rear-positioned weight to help dial in ball curvature. As the stamping reveals, Versions 2, 4, 5 and 7, are designated Triple Diamond models, with the introduction of what appears to be a Triple Diamond S variant with Version 4. The Triple Diamonds traditionally are the more “TOUR-geared” variants, and feature a more open face orientation than the others. It will be interesting, however, to see what makes the S-diamond different from its others.
The increased loft options of the Max Fast and X signal that those will, in all likelihood, be the more forgiving, high MOI options.
The PARADYM fairways appear to follow in the driver’s footsteps with numerous options, including some Triple Diamond variants—for the first time. Particularly noteworthy is Callaway’s apparent commitment to adjustable head weighting, with all of the PARADYM models featuring sole weights—like the Rogue ST fairways.

TaylorMade, likewise, has confirmed that its 2023 offering will be the Stealth 2, with FOUR different models:

- Stealth2, available in 8°, 9°, 10° and 12.5 of loft;
- Stealth2 HD, available in 9°, 10.5° and 12° of loft;
- Stealth2 Plus (v1), available in 8°, 9° and 10.5° of loft; and
- Stealth2 Plus (v2), available in 8°, 9° and 10.5° of loft.
As was the case with the original Stealth, the Plus will feature forward-positioned adjustable weighting to influence ball curvature. The HD model, another carryover from the original generation Stealth, will likely be the draw-biased model. All models will retain the 60X Carbon Twist Face that also first appeared in the Stealth.
The Stealth 2 fairways also benefit from 4 distinct models:

- Stealth2, available in 3 wood (15°), 3 HL (16.5°), 5 wood (18°), 7 wood (21°) and 9 wood (24°);
- Stealth2 HD, available in 3 wood (16°), 5 wood (19°) and 7 wood (23°);
- Stealth2 Plus, available in 3 wood (15°), 4 wood (16.5°) and 5 wood (18°);
- Stealth2 Plus Rocket, available in 13.5° of loft.
The most noticeable thing about the Stealth 2 fairways is the Stealth 2 Plus models, which feature front/rear adjustability. It is a bit difficult to discern from the black and white USGA photos, but adding the adjustable sole weight may have required modifying (if not shelving) the V Steel sole.
Now all that’s left is seeing these in play during the Hawaii swing and, more importantly, getting them into fitters and local retailers hands so we can see if Callaway and TaylorMade’s newest offerings perform.
