Aaron Wise Withdraws From Masters To Focus On His Mental Health
26-year-old Aaron Wise has decided it is best for him to pull out of the Masters. Currently ranked 45th in the world, this is a heartbreak for Wise, no doubt. He has not participated in the Masters since his debut in 2019. He finished 17th that year.
Wise had this to say from an Instagram story he posted:
“Regretfully, I am withdrawing from The Masters today. Golf is just as much a mental game as it is one of physical skill, and the mental piece of it has been a struggle for me recently. I don’t take the significance of playing at Augusta lightly, but I know that I need to take some time away to focus on my mental health so I can get back to competing at a level I am proud of.”
“This hurts but it’s needed. See you all soon.”

As Wise noted in his quote on Instagram he wants to get back to the level he knows he can compete at, as his struggles have shown with 4 missed cuts in his last 5 starts. Hopefully, soon he will be ready as the 2018 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year has a lot to bring to the table and won’t turn 27 till June. A bright future is ahead of Wise without question. Prayers and thoughts out to him and his family that all is well so he can get his head in the right space to be able to tee it up again.
As it stands, Aaron Wise will not be replaced in the field at the Masters, and it will be reduced to 88 players. The Masters will begin on Thursday at 3pm ET on ESPN.
