Golf course damage comes in all shapes and sizes. Yeah, you have your normal golf course wear and tear from daily play. It could be an occasional lightning strike or a massive chunk of turf ripped out of the grown from a Fasano divot.

But what has to be the worst is when Mother Nature rears her bitter hand on the sacred earth and rains down upon it with great vengeance and furious anger. I’m talking about golf ball-sized hail that comes down with such force it makes a green look like Swiss cheese.

The damage to this course is unlike anything I’ve ever seen that didn’t come with a tornado. This green looks like something you would see at a driving range.  It will be a year before this green is back to normal. I feel bad for the greenskeeper on this course because they definitely have their work cut out for them.

A report from local news outlet KY3 stated that the course, which is Oakdale Golf Club, suffered roughly $400,000 in damage after a massive storm cell hammered the area with tornados and other severe weather.

However, it appears a few friendly members and other players came out to help repair the greens as the course continues to make progress on the damages.
