It’s begun….
We’ve followed Charlie Woods through junior tournaments, the PNC Championship with his famous father, and a high school state title. Now, it’s time to talk the 15-year-old’s potential debut on the PGA Tour.
Woods, son of Tiger, will attempt to qualify for the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches (fka Honda Classic), which would be his first PGA Tour event if he were to earn his way in.

Woods will tee off Thursday morning in Hobe Sounds, Florida, at one of four pre-qualifying events. Around 25 players from that event will advance to Monday’s qualifier.
In that tournament, the top four will earn spots in the Cognizant, which starts next Thursday, Feb. 29, at PGA National in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
Woods has been a social media sensation with his performances in junior tournaments, and he and his dad thrilled the crowd in Orlando, Florida, at the 2021 PNC Championship, where the duo finished runner-up to John Daly and his son, John Daly II.

The Cognizant Classic, hosted by Jack Nicklaus, saw a relatively poor field last year for an event in the Florida Swing because it was sandwiched between three Signature Events. It has already drawn a better field this year, with commitments secured from the likes of Rory McIlroy, Matt Fitzpatrick, and Rickie Fowler.
