Following his 7:39 tee time, X accounts are reporting that Charlie carded a 16-over par (86). It is unclear what scores will be making into the Cognizant, but it’s safe to say that Charlie won’t be one of top 25 players who will advance to a final qualifying event on Monday.

Many were vocal and critical of Charlie’s decision, but clearly the Woods family saw something that justified letting Charlie tee it up. Perhaps to benchmark where his game stands, whether he’s got the commitment (and skills) to pursue a professional career or even just light a fire under his backside to commit and start seriously grinding before his high school years come to a close.
Hopefully this doesn’t deter Charlie from pursuing what he wants, whether or not that’s a career in professional golf.
