Scottie Scheffler Breaks Single-Season Money Record – With Several Months to Go

Scottie Scheffler has been the best golfer on the PGA Tour over the past three years, and several metrics will prove that statement.

But one of the most impressive is evidenced by Scheffler’s burgeoning bank account. The Texan has won the most prize money in a single season in PGA Tour history, with several big-money events left to go.

With Sunday’s win at the Memorial, Scheffler has not only won often in 2024, but he’s winning when it counts.

His five wins have come in a major (the Masters), the PGA Tour’s most-prestigious tournament (The Players Championship), and three signature events (Arnold Palmer Invitational, RBC Heritage, and the Memorial).

Add it up, and Scheffler’s prize winnings sit at $24,024,553.

And that’s before these tournaments have even been played:

  • U.S. Open
  • Open Championship
  • Travelers Championship (final signature event of 2024)
  • Two FedEx Cup playoff events
  • Tour Championship.

If Scheffler keeps up his winning ways, he could wind up north of $30 or even $40 million for this season alone.

With purses increasing on the PGA Tour, this is the third time that Scheffler has broken this record. His 2022-23 total (the old record) was $21,014,342. Third place belongs to Jon Rahm, who earned $16,522,608 last season.

Chris has played some famous courses in the state, including Bay Hill in Orlando and Innisbrook in the Tampa Bay area, and next on his to-do list is the Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass to take a crack at the famous island hole.
