Tiger Woods Confirms Status for Hero World Challenge: ‘I Am Disappointed’
Tiger Woods announced today that he would not participate in the Hero World Classic, the professional golf tournament that he has in the Bahamas each year.
Woods announced on Monday afternoon that he would not be able to play in the tournament, which is scheduled for the weekend of December 5.
I am disappointed that I will not be able to compete this year at the Hero World Challenge, but always look forward to being tournament host and spending the week with @HeroMotoCorp. Excited to welcome our exemptions @JustinThomas34, @JDayGolf and @NickDunlap62 into the field.

Woods has dealt with various injuries and ailments over the past few years, most of which stem from his car accident in Los Angeles in 2021.
The last time we saw Tiger Woods play professional golf was at the Open Championship at Royal Troon this past summer. Woods missed the cut with a score of 14 over par.
He said he would still be in attendance at the event as a host. He did not shed any additional details on when we could expect to see him on the course in the future. Woods has scaled back his schedule significantly over the past few years, only committing to the Major Championships and some other select events.
However, the PGA tour granted him an exemption last year for signature events. The move was likely in hopes of increasing viewership and attendance turnouts at PGA Tour events.
The 15-time major champion has also committed to the TGL simulator golf league that he has partnered on with Rory McIlroy.
Woods also announced on Monday that Justin Thomas, Jason, and Nick Dunlap would be the exemptions for the Hero World Challenge.
