With TGL set to kick off in the coming months, the first details regarding the SoFi Center, the massive simulator screen, and the layout of the league are being revealed.

TGL aims to revolutionize competitive team golf in a simulator setting, including dynamic greens and bunkers using real sand.

The details regarding the bunkers are now being revealed, and in an interesting turn of events, it seems that TGL will be using sand that is exclusive to the home of The Masters, Augusta National Golf Club.

The sand at Augusta National is some of the most expensive on Earth, and a ton would set you back about $10,000, instead of the traditional sand you would buy at your local hardware store for $20.

AJC reported earlier this year that the sand is created by the spruce pine mines of North Carolina, which means it is basically pure quartz. Tiger Woods has had several truckloads shipped to his house for his at-home bunkers.

It is safe to say the bunkers in TGL will be as high-profile as the names playing in the first year of the league. We can only imagine what other details could emerge.
