How-to-Add-25+-Yards-to-Your-Drive-Quickly

I know we are all inundated daily by ads claiming to quickly ad distance to your drives and at some point and may claim it is even free.  They all ask for your email address and eventually your credit card number.  What I am offering is a simple, proven technique that most golfers seem to be unaware of.  I guess nobody talks about it because they can’t make any money on it.

Just Tee The Ball Higher

It is very simple.  Just tee the ball higher and hit it on the upswing as much as possible.  The driver is the only club that this works with because you get to tee it up on a flat lie every time.  Tee the ball higher and experiment with your address position and swing until you can catch it on the upswing.

In case you are saying to yourself that I’m nuts and it can’t be that easy check out this quote in an article about the USGA limit on how long a tee can be.  Yes, the USGA has a rule that the tee can only be 4″ tall because of the advantage of teeing it higher.

“In testing it has been proven that the average player can significantly increase their driving distance if they simply tee it higher.  How much distance?  We have seen average gains as much as 23.08 yards when we had players switch to a 3-inch tee.  The taller tee produces a higher launch angle with lower spin resulting in greater distance.  Failure to utilize a taller tee can negate any of the benefits of the latest drivers.”

The penalty for violating this rule is disqualification.  So, why is the USGA penalty so severe?  It is because they recognize how much a taller tee can increase distance.”

Angle of Attack

In today’s technology frequently use the term “the angle of attack” which is the angle at which the club is traveling at impact.

A friend using Trackman got even more astounding numbers.  By changing the AOA he achieved results that increased distance from an average of 257.7 yards to 295.5.  That is a whopping 37.8 yard increase in total distance.  He went from an AOA of +5 degrees, which means he was catching the ball slightly on the downswing, to a -8 degrees which means he was catching the ball on the upswing.  It is possible to launch the ball too high but that is extremely difficult.

The Sooner the Ball Hits the Ground the Shorter it Goes

The moment your ball hits the ground resistance or friction kicks in and starts slowing it down.  The scientific fact is that the longer it stays in the air the farther it goes.  Also there are no trees are sand traps in the air.  The next time you go to the range or course to practice you need to give this a try.  You may be amazed at the results you can achieve and the difference it makes without having to try to increase your swing speed.
