Tiger Woods Completes Intensive Rehab
With all of the news surrounding the golf world this week, one story that has been overshadowed happened outside of the links. And it happened to involve the former top golfer in the world.
Tiger Woods has had to spend most of the year where he was expected to return to top form just trying to get healthy. After returning from a long PGA TOUR absence to rest his back, Woods returned for only one event before his back flared up again. This issue would prove to be the last of Tiger’s concerns in 2017, however, as he was back in the news in May after having a run-in with the authorities.
It has been well documented that Woods was arrested after being found asleep on the highway after having abused some of his pain pills and sleeping pills that were prescribed to him to help his back issues. After this incident, Woods announced that he would be going into a rehab program in order to get his head and body right.

This rehab has apparently worked for Tiger rather quickly as he announced on Twitter that he completed the private state rehab program. Woods described the rehab as intensive and thanked his family and friends for all of their support. This tweet, however, did not make any reference as to when Tiger would get back on the course.
For Woods, he is likely focused on making sure he is mentally recovered before looking to physically prepare for life back on the PGA TOUR. He is now 41 years old and has only competed in three events since 2016. That is a lot of time off and it isn’t easy to return to prime form with that kind of layoff, especially with the off the course incidents Woods has had to deal with.
So while it is good to see that Tiger is moving past his drug issues, it doesn’t seem likely that the former number one player in the world will return to a PGA event this season.
