REDVANLY: Bold and Classy with Athletic Performance
While the 2019 PGA Merchandise Show was a few months ago, I’ve finally been able to test, try out and enjoy one of the brands that I was most excited about discovering: REDVANLY.

REDVANLY is the product of co-founders Andrew Redvanly and David Pagana. Andrew and David were both post-college athletes who both played tennis and golf outside of work. In an attempt to create a better golf polo to market to their own demographic—athletic clothing designed for the bold, perseverant, confident individual—Andrew and David decided to start by focusing on high quality fabrics.
And after having the opportunity to try out a few REDVANLY over the past few, very hot and humid weeks, I can confidently say that the REDVANLY polos truly honor (and exceed) the company’s goal to develop high performance and ultra-comfortable apparel.
Indeed, before I even had the to find out exactly what was included in the Masters Bundle I ordered (which included 3 randomly selected pieces), it was immediately apparent that REDVANLY takes a lot of pride in delivering a very high quality product.

As you can tell, the packaging ensures that each individual item is protected during shipping, so you’ll never have to worry about the carrier mishandling. But if you weren’t already impressed by the packaging, the stuff on the inside is really going to blow your mind.

The Times Quarter Zip was the first item I gravitated towards. Before the crazy summer heat settled in, the Times Quarter Zip was the perfect to roll out of the house, hit the local bagel spot, drive over to the course with the windows open and tunes blasting, and play the first few holes before it started to heat up.
Made with REDVANLY’s STRETCHknit fabric, the Times Quarter Zip is ultra soft, has plenty of stretch and is moisture-wicking to help keep you warm without getting soaked with sweat.
The black base (also available in Navy and Sea Blues) and contrasting color block at the shoulders and chest make the Times Quarter Zip distinct from other pullovers you’ll regularly see at the golf course. Indeed, the bold styling, mock collar and elasticized cuffs all come together into a classy package that will separate you from everyone else on the course, but also help you stay warm without interfering with your grip (or blocking your Shot Scope) or swing.

Once the June heat and humidity settled in, I was really excited to give the Bergen Polo (pictured in Black, but also available in Navy, White/Navy/Fire Engine and Silver). The geometric print and striped ribbed collar immediately separated the Bergen Polo from everything else in my closet.
Further complementing the Bergen Polo’s appearance, the PUREpoly material is the softest and stretchiest polyester/spandex blend I’ve ever worn. Ever. Additionally, even when the heat crept into the mid-90s and the humidity followed, the PUREpoly material kept me cool and the Bergen Polo never soaked up sweat and got heavy. As a result, I was able to swing freely while remaining comfortable throughout the entire round.
Finally, the Flatbush Polo (White/Fire Engine, White/Navy, Sea Blue/White and Black/White). The unique blend of polyester and TENCEL results in an athletic shirt that provides excellent moisture wicking and stretch, which are perfectly suited for playing golf in peak summer heat. Furthermore, something I particularly noticed and appreciated was REDVANLY’s subtle, small “r” branding. While most brands tend to go a little overboard with branding (I’m looking at you Nike with your crazy PGA Championship hats), REDVANLY’s minimalistic branding only helps their unique patterns, prints and colors stand out in a manner that immediately draws attention.

The beauty of golf apparel is that there’s lots of options out there, which is great because everyone can gravitate towards the style that best reflects them. Personally, I’m a big fan of the smaller brands because they need to do something that makes them standout so you’ll go brag to your friends (if they haven’t already asked) about the awesome but unfamiliar new piece of clothes you picked up.
REDVANLY is bold, but simultaneously classy, and regardless what your personal style preference happens to be, in catches your attention and forces you to ask “who makes that?” But looking good is only half the part, and REDVANLY’s high quality fabrics only help it stand out even more. While plenty of other golf shirts don’t breath very well, tend to get heavy from sweat and/or restrict your movement, REDVANLY is committed to delivering modern athletic wear that helps you play and feel your best.
Given how impressed I was with everything, there’s no doubt that I’ll be adding some more REDVANLY stuff to my collection (for example, the Pierrepont Polo in Black). And one of the things I guarantee will be part of that next order are the Hanover Golf Shorts, which are the first pull on golf short. Imagine the comfort of a lightweight pair of mesh shorts that are dressed up as your favorite pair of golf shorts, equipped with a functional front zipper and front and back pockets.
