Hank Haney Sues PGA Tour & Blames Tiger Woods For His Firing
Johnson: “This week is the 74th U.S. Women’s Open, Hank.”
Haney: “Oh it is? I’m gonna predict a Korean.”
Johnson, laughing: “OK, that’s a pretty safe bet.”
Haney: “I couldn’t name you six players on the LPGA Tour. Maybe I could. Well … I’d go with Lee. If I didn’t have to name a first name, I’d get a bunch of them right.”
These remarks are the what supposedly got Haney axed as host of “Hank Haney Golf Radio” on Sirius XM just a few months ago. But, there is a new twist in the story.
Haney is now suing the PGA Tour claiming the firing has nothing to do with the remarks above, but all to do with his longstanding feud with his old student, Tiger Woods. Haney has been on record many times bashing Tiger and he says the PGA Tour has had it out for him because of it and this is them “settling the score”. Now he is seeking an undisclosed amount for punitive damages.
That’s a bold move cotton, lets see how this one plays out… I am going to throw out an extremely hot take and say he isn’t going to win this lawsuit, the PGA isn’t going to comment on it, and everybody is going to continue to root for Tiger as they should. It sucks he got fired, but he has already started another podcast on iHeart Radio.
Tiger won again? No sh*t, cry me a river Haney.
