A few days removed from the United States amazing comeback in the Presidents Cup we are now starting to hear some answers to the one big question many of us had on Saturday. “Why the hell is Tiger not playing!?”

Smooth swinging Freddy Couples was recently on SIRUS XM PGATOUR radio and he provided some answers.

🚨🔥🐐• #UPDATE: Fred Couples has gone on SIRIUS XM PGATOUR radio to explain what happened on Saturday when Tiger didn’t play: At about 10 o’clock, Tiger said, “Guys, my body is not going to let me go. I’m not going to play this afternoon.” Stricker went on the headset and said, “Tiger please, can you go in right now and get loose and warm.” Tiger said, “Strick, I can’t do it.” Zach Johnson said, “Tiger, are you sure, you sure?’ “I believe in the team”, Tiger said, and Zach replied, “Yeah, so do I, but I believe that you need to be playing.” | Tiger obviously needed the day off and probably figured with healthy bodies available to play there was no point in pushing it. Via Sirius XM & ESPN reporting but interesting to hear the back story. #TigerWoods

Despite some “gentle” urging by his team, Tiger knew he was a no go for Saturday. Recognizing that his body would not let him compete at the level needed and pulling himself out of competition takes some balls. It has to take a lot for someone with Tigers talent and resume to pull himself out of a key moment in an event due to physical limitations so he must have been feeling like trash.

We can mark this move as another win by the captain as he clearly made the right decision because he showed no sign of physical limitations when he won his singles match against Ancer.

Ed started playing golf when he was 18. It started out as a hobby and something he liked to do but by 2014 it had turned into a full blown obsession. Since then Ed has committed himself to improving and learning more about the game. He doesn’t work in the golf industry, he’s not a teaching pro, he’s a guy who just loves the game and enjoys sharing his thoughts with others who share the same passion.
