Most golfers are playing with a mid to high handicap, however, that doesn’t mean that you can’t hit the ball like a pro. With all the advancements in golf technology, it’s nice to see that technology research isn’t just for the elite player. Introducing the new Ping G710 irons:

At first glance, the one thing that comes to mind is that they are sexy as hell! The all-black finish looks like you’re coming to flat out murder the golf ball. The engineers at Ping are boasting that the new G710’s offer an impressive 5% increase in MOI. That means it’s not only going to go further and higher, but also be more accurate for players with slower swing speeds.

That higher trajectory means that it’s coming steeper into the green, resulting in more greens hit in regulation. Anytime you’re holding a green from 180 out you have the potential to shoot lower scores. More importantly, the game becomes a lot more fun to play!

Ping is also stepping into the amateur analytics craze by adding the Arccos smart grips to this lineup. I’m one year into having a personal analysis on every one of my shots and I’ve seen a massive improvement in my game.

If you’re interested in trying the new G710 series for yourself, they will run you about $175 for a steel club or $190 for graphite. Check with your local fitter before buying them (or any club) because with this much technology and improvement, you want to make sure you’re maximizing your game by playing with the right equipment for you. I’ve played the G series in the past and they are a great option for the mid to high handicapper who’s looking to get better!

Ed started playing golf when he was 18. It started out as a hobby and something he liked to do but by 2014 it had turned into a full blown obsession. Since then Ed has committed himself to improving and learning more about the game. He doesn’t work in the golf industry, he’s not a teaching pro, he’s a guy who just loves the game and enjoys sharing his thoughts with others who share the same passion.
