Aaron Wise Was Hit In The Head By An Errant Drive At The PGA Championship
During the second round of the PGA Championship today the unthinkable happened in the beginning of Cam’s Smith round and toward the end of Aaron Wise’s round. Aaron Wise was just minding his own business preparing for his second on hole 7 on the right hand rough which was his third to last hole since he had started on the back 9.
While this was happening, Smith was teeing up on hole 2 facing a left to right wind that hit his driver over on the 7th hole.

Smith’s tee shot had struck Aaron Wise directly to the head, no bounces or anything, only solid contact with his noggin. Yikes, it seemed that Wise was unshaken by the event and probably in shock. He took a kneel for about 30 seconds to gather himself and went to make the cut with ease finishing at +1 after two rounds. It’s reported he even showed his playing partner the mark that Cameron Smith’s ball made on his cap.
He was seen holding an ice pack post-round to manage the strike to the head. Hopefully, Aaron Wise is okay and went through proper concussion protocol if such exists on the PGA Tour.
