Adrian Meronk’s $250,000 Mistake at LIV Golf Jeddah
One of LIV Golf’s slogans is, “Golf but louder.”
Apparently, they would also like one to be, “Golf but faster.”
For just the second time in its history, LIV issued a one-stroke penalty for slow play. The victim? Adrian Meronk.

The stroke on the 18th hole proved costly for Meronk. Instead of finishing in fifth, he claimed a share of sixth place. His potential winnings went from $750,000 to $508,750.
Other LIV Golf notes after Sunday’s tournament:
Niemann Invited to PGA Championship
Joaquin Niemann earned an invitation to the Masters after winning a DP World Tour event in Australia at the end of last year. He subsequently won the LIV opener in Mexico and again in Jeddah on Sunday.
Now, the Chilean golf star says he received a special invitation into the PGA Championship.
Kim Encouraged Despite Last-Place Finish
Thirty-three strokes behind Niemann on the final LIV Golf Jeddah leaderboard sat Anthony Kim. He was +16 after three rounds in his first golf tournament in a dozen years.
Despite the less-than-stellar result, Kim said there were plenty of positives to take from the weekend.
Great interview from Anthony Kim after his round at LIV Jeddah:
“I’ve got a lot to work on.”

“I’m definitely hitting the ball well,” Kim said. “I’m doing a lot of things well. I know the scores don’t reflect that. It’s disappointing to score that way. But at the same time, I know I have a lot to build on, and I’m just going to keep doing what I’m doing… My swing is fine. I’m putting, I’m chipping, I’m doing everything well. I’m just not as focused as I need to be over the shots.”
He will have a chance to build on what he learned next weekend at LIV Golf Hong Kong.
