Amateur Golfer Cards Three Aces in One Day
There have been some absolutely amazing feats accomplished in golf this year on the pro and amateur levels. But what one woman did yesterday may have been the craziest thing I have ever seen.
From the moment golfers pick up their first club, they dream of being able to hit that one perfect shot that goes in for a hole-in-one. Most golfers never realize this dream but for Ali Gibb, she realized this dream not once, not twice, but three times all in the same day. While competing to defend her crown at the Croham Hurst Golf Club outside of London, Gibb carded three separate aces.
The first ace came in the morning of the 36-hole event when Gibb knocked one in on the par-three fifth. Then after a short break, she went back out in the afternoon to sink another hole-in-one on the same exact hole. Finally, she concluded her round with the hat trick, making the third ace on the 11th hole of the course.

After accomplishing something like that, Gibb was walking on clouds discussing the rounds with the media. “It was a crazy day and what happened was quite unbelievable, it took its time to sink in,” she told CNN Sport.”Most people might spend all their lives trying to get one, I got three in five hours.”
Amazingly, Gibb had already had three aces to her record already since she’s been playing and was able to double it up all in one day’s work. At the reception after the tournament, the club gives out champagne bottles for anyone getting a hole-in-one. Gibb appropriately received three bottles and was able to share them with all of the women who attended the event with her.
It’s going to be more than impossible for Gibb to repeat this performance when she goes for the three-peat at next year’s tournament but regardless of that, this day is going to be remembered for a long time and she has one heck of a story to pass down for future generations.
