AMAZING: Woman Drops an Ace at Sheep Ranch with a Putter Off the Tee

For most people, just making a hole-in-one is a goal of their entire golfing lives. One Oregonian woman, however, was able to accomplish that goal with a little extra flair.

Allison Koehnke, a 36-year-old mother of two from Salem, Oregon recently played a round at Brandon Dunes new golf course, Sheep Ranch. Sheep Ranch has already gotten a lot of publicity since it opened up for the first time this summer because of its breathtaking views along the Oregon coastline. But Allison is adding to the hype train.

Koehnke was playing with her husband when she stepped up to the par-3, 16th hole at Sheep Ranch. The hole has all short grass around it and you can conceivably putt the ball all the way to the green. So that’s what Koehnke decided to do. And wouldn’t you believe it but she ended up sinking the approximately 300-foot putt.

So not only did Koehnke make her an ace during her first round of the year, she did it in one of the most unique ways possible. That’s a memory she’ll hold onto for a long time.

“This is beyond unreal,” Koehnke told Golf Digest. “I never thought this would happen to me. I never thought I could hope for a hole-in-one.”

Perhaps the best part of all, Koehnke’s husband caught the entire thing on video. He caught the actual shot and the celebration afterward so we could all share the moment together. And you can imagine why Allison is so excited in the video because she admitted that she usually only gets a few holes a week with some friends. So you could say she had a bit of luck on her side.

While making that putt was incredibly improbable, it does prove that this is at least a conceivable way of playing the 16th at Sheep Ranch. And it’ll be interesting to see how many other golfers take Allison’s strategy when they step up to the tee box.
