Golf fans have been blessed for the past few decades to get to watch a player like Tiger Woods just take control of the sport and dominate it as he has. He is probably one of the most dominant athletes ever in any sport and now we’re about to get to know him on a whole new level.

With Tiger just finishing off his comeback season and getting ready to lead the United States into the Presidents Cup next month, Woods has obviously gone through a lot in his life on and off of the course. There have been several books, media stories, and other publications that have tried to portray the life of Tiger but now the man himself is ready to take control of his own narrative.

Tiger announced on Twitter that he will be writing and releasing his own memoir “BACK.” According to the whole press release, the memoir is expected to cover Tiger’s early life as a golf prodigy, breaking racial barriers, and his rise to becoming a global icon. Further, Tiger isn’t shying away from his darkest times, as he plans to address his personal and health issues and concluding with his 2019 Masters win.

“I’ve been in the spotlight for a long time, and because of that, there have been books and articles and TV shows about me, most filled with errors, speculative and wrong,” Woods said in his statement. “This book is my definitive story. It’s in my words and expresses my thoughts. It describes how I feel and what’s happened in my life. I’ve been working at it steadily, and I’m looking forward to continuing the process and creating a book that people will want to read.”

Tiger seems incredibly eager to tell his story and it seems like he has a lot to say. It’s no secret that many people hold a preconceived notion of him as a person, especially after all of the personal troubles he has endured in the past decade. It appears like he wants to finally get his side out there for people to see and give everyone a look into how everything actually transpired.

While the memoir is definitely a go, there was no release date mentioned for the book. But no matter when it’s released, you can guarantee that it’s going to be a best seller.
