Bill Haas Released from Hospital After Fatal Car Accident
Haas, who was slated to play in the Genesis Open this upcoming weekend was involved in a car accident Tuesday night. The wreck was a two car collision between the Ferrari that Haas was riding in and a BMW. The collision took place in Pacific Palisades, California, just a few miles away from the Riviera Country Club.
Sadly, it was confirmed that there was one fatality in the collision and it was the driver of the Ferrari that Haas was a passenger in. The driver was a long time family friend of Haas and was pronounced dead at the scene. Haas and the driver of the BMW were taken to the hospital in serious condition but are OK.

Another car was involved in the accident, driven by actor Luke Wilson, but he was unharmed.
Haas’ spokesperson put out a statement Wednesday morning outlining the details. “Bill escaped serious injuries and has been released from the hospital, he is understandably shaken up and—more importantly—his deepest condolences go out to the host family during this tragic and difficult time.”
After seeing images of the wreck it’s hard to believe that Bill Haas escaped serious injury.

Obviously, it was also announced that Haas will not be competing in the Genesis Open as he had planned. Luckily for Haas, however, is that he was released from the hospital with no broken bones and just some swelling in his legs. He’s expected to make a full recovery and a speedy return to the golf course.
This is an incredibly tragic event to take place before an important PGA TOUR tournament and while we will all be watching golf this weekend, our thoughts and prayers will be with Haas and the family of the man who passed away.
The name of the driver who was killed has not yet been released.
