Wait … Bones is back?  Just for this week.

Jim “Bones” Mackay, one of golf’s most well-known and respected caddies, will be making a comeback on the bag next week.  In June last year, Phil and Bones sent shockwaves throughout the golfing world when they announced that, after 25 years together, the duo would be separating.  Phil locked down 41 of 42 of his PGA wins, notably all 5 of his majors—2004 Masters, the 2005 PGA, the 2006 Masters, the 2010 Masters, and the 2013 Open Championship—while the two were working together.  And since the separation, Bones has an on-course reporter for NBC/Golf Channel, until now…

In fact, Bones will be caddying for one golf’s powerhouses: Justin Thomas (currently ranked No. 3 in the world). Justin Thomas’s normal caddie, Jimmy Johnson, is out with a foot injury and he needed some assistance defending his Sony Open title at Waialae Golf Course (Hawaii).  After finishing the Sentry Tournament of Champions tied for 22 (-4), Justin Thomas is hoping to bounce back with Bones’ assistance and defend one of his 2017 wins in Hawaii.

Ever since golf became a competitive outlet, nothing brings Eric more joy than a well struck 4 iron. And despite living in NYC, Eric makes it a priority to work on his game and fitness during the week, along with a round or two over the weekend. Fortunately, he’s got a very understanding fiancé who (for the time being) accepts him and his obsession. Follow Eric on IG @hozel_rocket.
