LANDSLIDE: Brandel Chamblee Predicts a Runaway Victory for Past Masters Champ
Numerous sportsbooks have Scottie Scheffler as the favorite coming into The Masters, with odds as low as +250 for the 2022 Champion. Controversial golf commentator Brandel Chamblee also has Scheffler on his radar for winning his second Green Jacket.
Chamblee believes Scheffler could walk away with this year’s tournament, predicting a victory margin by as many as ten shots.
It is important to take what Brandel says with a grain of salt for several reasons. The first is that this is simply a prediction. Of course, all of us are entitled to pick our winner and the margin that they could claim victory by.

Secondly, Chamblee is one of the biggest and most outspoken supporters of the PGA Tour, usually not recognizing the talent that still exists on LIV Golf. I don’t think too many of us are surprised that he is not picking someone like Jon Rahm or Dustin Johnson to claim their second Green Jacket.
Chamblee’s prediction is not too far out of line, though. Although ten strokes is a substantial margin, Scheffler is certainly capable of walking away with a tournament, especially if his putting is clicking. Scottie has already won two tournaments this year, going back-to-back at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the PLAYERS Championship.
Scheffler is ranked within the top five of each strokes gained category, ranking first in Approach, second in Off-the-Tee, fifth in Around the Green, and first in overall. However, he is ranked 97th in strokes gained putting, which has been where he struggles regularly.
If Scottie is able to make a few putts and avoid three-putting mistakes, it is basically a race for second-place at that point. Couple this with the fact that he’s already locked up a Green Jacket, and the 2024 Masters Champion could be Scheffler by a considerable margin.
