I feel like this is a shared sentiment among caddies and coaches. The player’s performance suffers, frustrations arise and something needs to be changed.

As is the case for reputable and respected coach Claude Harmon III—son of reputable coach Claude “Butch” Harmon Jr. who has coached many other top-tier golfers, including Dustin Johnson—who was let go by 4-time Major winner Brooks Koepka after failing to make the cut at the American Express.

The break-up must be hard on everyone, considering that Claude has been with Koepka since 2013, when he was still cutting his teeth on the European Challenge Tour, and Koepka’s team—caddie Ricky Elliott and Claude, among others—can routinely be spotted on social media celebrating big victories together.

It’s unclear as to whether will try to figure things out alone or seek the assistance of a new coach, particularly with 2021 Masters only less than 70 days away.

Ever since golf became a competitive outlet, nothing brings Eric more joy than a well struck 4 iron. And despite living in NYC, Eric makes it a priority to work on his game and fitness during the week, along with a round or two over the weekend. Fortunately, he’s got a very understanding fiancé who (for the time being) accepts him and his obsession. Follow Eric on IG @hozel_rocket.
