Brooks Koepka Hints Once Again that He’ll Leave LIV Golf for the PGA TOUR
When Brooks Koepka left the PGA TOUR for LIV Golf, not too many people were surprised. At the time, he was battling injuries and was a far cry from the guy we had grown used to seeing dominate at Major Championships.
However, it seems Koepka is more likely to rejoin the TOUR when his LIV Golf contract is up. This is based on several statements he’s made over the past few months, including one remark he made this morning ahead of LIV’s Miami event his weekend.
In December, Koepka appeared on the Joe Pomp Podcast to talk about LIV, stating that he wished the league had been further along than it was. This was based on TV ratings and overall interest in the league, something that many players had hoped would grow as time went on.
This morning, a presser ahead of LIV Miami continued to reiterate that point. He was asked about the progress LIV has made in recent years, only to say basically the same thing he said in December:
“We all hoped it would have been a little bit further along, and that’s no secret…but they’re making progress, and it seems to be going in the right direction.”

While it is not a confirmation that he is headed back to the PGA TOUR, it seems more than likely that he will return. Koepka has rebounded from the injuries that plagued his career several years ago, winning another Major at the PGA Championship in 2023 and finishing 2nd at The Masters that year.
His performance in Majors last season was less than ideal and disappointing for him, considering his record. He failed to notch a Top 25 at any of the four Majors, capping off the year with a T45 at The Masters, T26 at both the PGA and U.S. Open, and T43 at The Open Championship.
Koepka is looking for competition; that’s what he’s sought for his entire career. He wants to play against the world’s best, which includes Scheffler, McIlroy, and Schauffele, and it has to happen more than four times per year. Fred Couples, a friend of Koepka’s, even said Brooks wants to come back to the TOUR.
Koepka refused to confirm that’s what his plans were as of now.
However, if these continued jabs at LIV continue, it will lead to even more speculation about his future.
