Brooks Koepka has announced he will line up against stars of the PGA TOUR and DP World Tour next month by playing in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at The Old Course at St. Andrews, Carnoustie, and Kingsbarns Golf Links.

Koepka committed to the tournaments this week in a statement to the Irish Star:

“I’ve been fortunate to play in several Dunhill Links, as well as two Open Championships at St Andrews over the years, and these trips are always highlights to my year. I love Links golf and St Andrews is my favorite course in the world. I could play there every day for the rest of my life and never get tired of it… The atmosphere on and off the course at the Dunhill is fantastic. I was able to play with my father one year and my good friend and caddie, Ricky Elliott, another. Those two weeks will always be very special to me.”

Koepka will play against several PGA TOUR stars, including friend Rory McIlroy, whom he will square up against in December in the latest iteration of The Match on TNT.

Koepka’s commitment comes where LIV Golf stars are allowed to play in DP World Tour tournaments, but questions loom surrounding the participation of several other players.

Jon Rahm, for example, is awaiting the birth of his third child, and he needs to begin accumulating points toward the Ryder Cup by playing in sanctioned events. Since he is not playing in PGA TOUR events, the DP World Tour tournaments are his only option, and he also needs to play in at least four events, as rules require.

Rahm is a major powerhouse for the European team, and not being there for Bethpage Black would be a major blow to the squad.

Inspired by the likes of Woods, Palmer, McIlroy, and Koepka, Joey plays over 100 times a year in the South Central Pennsylvania area. When he isn't golfing, he is probably thinking about golfing, but he might be watching other sports, writing, or playing poker.
