Bryson DeChambeau ripped into an unruly fan at last weekend’s U.S. Open at Los Angeles Country Club when the spectator claimed he was holding up the pace of play on the tee box.

DeChambeau heard a member of the crowd at LACC say that he was being timed while standing on the tee box. Bryson is one of the longest hitters in the game, and several holes last weekend were driveable for him, along with other players in the field.

DeChambeau remarked at the fan:

“Are you still timing, because they just walked off the green, buddy. You’re still timing? Okay, thank you.”

Pace of play has been a big talking point in today’s game, especially this year, as discussions regarding Patrick Cantlay were a heavy conversation piece earlier in the year.

However, there were plenty of long wait times between shots this weekend. Rickie Fowler waited 14 minutes on a tee box on Saturday as things were backed up. DeChambeau is a favorite to dislike amongst fans, for whatever reason, and it seems he may have been a target of criticism that was not necessarily warranted.

DeChambeau finished T20 at +1 this past weekend.
