Callaway and Jon Rahm Reach Long-Term Extension With Stake In Topgolf Callaway Brands
Callaway Golf and Jon Rahm have agreed on a long-term extension that includes an equity stake in Topgolf Callaway Brands, the company announced today.
After leaving TaylorMade right after the New Year in 2021, Rahm decided to go with Callaway, which also included a clothing deal with Travis Matthew.

Rahm said to Golf.com:
“It wasn’t an easy decision. I made some really good relationships with TaylorMade; I’d been with them since I turned pro. It’s always hard to say goodbye.”
Rahm had said that Callaway was where he believed he could get his “ball-striking to be as good as it was and improve in other areas.”
The Chrome X Soft ball also allowed the Spaniard to see better shot variety and more control.
He added:
“I felt my ball-striking characteristics could be as good as they were before, and the golf ball with the shorter irons would launch a little bit lower with a little more spin, which gave me more variety. I saw an opening to improve my short iron game, which has been improving the past few years, but it’s something I feel I can improve a lot more. I can add a variety of shots now. That was one of the key ingredients. Once I saw I could hit it good off the tee, as I have the last few years, I could try to strengthen a weakness.”
The decision has obviously been a good one. Since he joined Callaway in 2021, Rahm has won two Major Championships, including the 2021 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines and this year’s Masters Tournament at Augusta National.

Rahm has also routinely shared the #1 spot on the Official World Golf Ranking with Scottie Scheffler, who is arguably the only golfer to have played as well as Rahm in the last two years.
The new deal will see Rahm continue his partnership but also gain equity stake in Topgolf Callaway Brands.
Rahm said:
“I’m so happy to continue this incredible relationship with Callaway and I truly have played the best golf of my career with their equipment. From the driver to the golf ball, they continue to set the bar higher with every new product line, and I’m looking forward to many more great years with their team.”
Callaway CEO Chip Brewer also commented on the deal:
“We’re so proud to have Jon on our staff, and we couldn’t be more excited about this extension of our long-term partnership. Jon is an amazing talent, and he’s driven to be one of the very best to ever play the game. Equally important, he is a man of strong integrity and a brand ambassador who shares our passion for making a positive impact on our global sport. It’s a pleasure to work with him, and we look forward to focusing our considerable resources on his continued success.”
