Callaway Signs Two More PGA TOUR Pros

One company that is starting to reel in some big fish for their brand is Callaway Golf. Callaway made an expected splash yesterday, adding Sergio Garcia to the fold after the Spaniard had spent the past decade and a half with TaylorMade. It was not a huge surprise, however, as TaylorMade announced in November that Sergio would no longer be a sponsor and Garcia also started using some Callaway products at the end of 2017.

A more unexpected addition to the Callaway team was made today, however, when the brand announced that PGA Rookie of the Year Xander Schauffele would also be brought on after spending last year with TaylorMade. He will end up playing woods, irons, wedges, balls and the Odyssey putter, which he’s used for several years.

Callaway is extremely happy to have both pros on board and had glowing things to say about them. President Chip Brewer said that “Sergio has been one of the world’s most talented and charismatic players for almost 20 years. It will be fun to see what he can do using Callaway equipment.” And Vice President Tim Reed said that “Xander is one of the most exciting young players in the game. We know he’s going to do great things with our equipment, and we look forward to being there with him every step of the way.”

Callaway seems to have gotten both players at a prime time in their careers as well. Sergio has booming confidence after capturing his first major championship at the Masters last year and Schauffele was able to win two championships and finish in the top five of the U.S. Open on the way to his rookie of the year honors.

With these two players joining the fold, Callaway looks like it could be in for a big year for the brand. Hopefully, they can put up the same numbers they did last year.
