After a seven year drought with no hole-in-ones on the 16th hole at the Waste Management Phoenix Open there have been two in the past two days.

Yesterday it was Sam Ryder and today it was Carlos Ortiz.

Ortiz hit his tee shot and watched the ball roll into the whole before celebrating with his caddie and other members in the group. Just like Ryder’s ace yesterday the fans surrounding the 16th hole threw their drink cups and cans onto the hole to celebrate the achievement which caused a short delay in the action.

Even crazier then that, Ortiz picked his ball out of the hole and threw it into the stands. Now I understand it’s tradition for players to throw the ball into the stands after finishing 16, I feel like this situation is totally different. He just made a hole-in-one! That’s a crazy achievement that many players are dying to get. That ball should’ve been kept and saved for years to come.

What an unreal accomplishment, congratulations to Ortiz!

What would you do with your ball after making a hole-in-one?
