Today’s news has been largely dominated by hearings, Senators, and the PIF.

However, as all heads turn to those in suit to wade through the legal and financial mess – we are reminded of Tiger Woods’ newest off-course venture to add to his growing portfolio at TGR Designs.

Specifically, the 8,000-yard Marcella Club in Park City, Utah.

The distance at the course comes from the five long par fives, where each measures over 600 yards. Rumors of the crazy long course surfaced in February this year, where we see a 660-yard opening par 5, two par fours over 500 yards, and a 700-yard par five on the back nine.

However, there are two par threes that would scare most amateurs (and some pros), the 13th measuring at 275 yards, with the 15th clocking in at 292!

The Utah mountains will be providing significant elevation, so we can assume the holes will not quite play their full scorecard yardage (thankfully).

TGR Designs has the following to say about Marcella:

‘Jordanelle Ridge will be the site of a new TGR Design golf facility with unparalleled 360-degree views of the Uinta Mountains, Jordanelle Reservoir, Deer Valley Resort, and the Heber Valley with Mount Timpanogos in the distance.  Marcella Club will have some of the most spectacular views in all of golf.

The cornerstone of the Marcella Club will be the first mountain course design for Tiger and TGR Design. The course will provide a stern test for low handicap golfers, yet also present a fun, family friendly experience to allow individuals of all skill levels to come together and enjoy the course.’

A 292-yard par three doesn’t exactly welcome ‘all skill levels’ – but I’m sure the forward tees will be much more playable…
