Along with a multitude of changes on the PGA Tour, one of the season’s most anticipated tournaments — the Byron Nelson — is packing a new sponsorship and new experiences for fans. But, in essence, it is the same legendary tournament.

For years, The Byron Nelson has been sponsored by AT&T. Following last year’s conclusion of the event, that sponsor chose not to renew, and CJ Group took over the reigns as the tournament’s primary supporter.

Along with the change in sponsorship, the team at The Byron Nelson has a few new surprises for fans as they gear up to spend their days at TPC Craig Ranch just north of Dallas, Texas. The City of McKinney is the exact location.

New Additions

The return of a stadium-style hole known as Ranch17, which is something that has nearly guaranteed a fun and inviting buzz for fans and players alike, is coupled with plenty of new additions. Perhaps the most notable hole in golf is the 16th at TPC Scottsdale, where the party-like atmosphere has brought out some of the most memorable moments in golf.

The CJ CUP Byron Nelson is doing the same with its 17th hole, coined “Ranch17,” where nearly 6,000 fans will be able to watch players try to tame the 147-yard Par 3. This is the second year for the iconic Par 3.

It is sure to be a great atmosphere at Ranch17. Check out this awesome view of the hole:

Along with the stadium-style hole and seating, Ranch17 equips some brand new fan-favorite areas to sit: the Tito’s Stillhouse Lounge and the Cadillac Club. It also features the return of the Ultra Athletic Club, Choctaw Club, and Champions Club, all offering their own unique advantages and area-specific features!

Tito’s Stillhouse

The Tito’s Stillhouse features a covered viewing deck, games, lounge seating, and craft cocktails!

Cadillac Club

Check out the Cadillac Club, with a climate-controlled interior, the latest Cadillac models for you to check out, and snacks and drinks!

All of these options feature covered viewing decks to help keep you cool and out of the Texas sun.

There is also a hole dedicated to Byron Nelson himself, and it comes just two holes before Ranch17.

The fifteenth is a 216-yard Par 3, and the folks at the CJ CUP Byron Nelson gave us a quick sneak peek of it:

New Cuisine Options

Many of us love the golf at tournaments, but all of us have to eat! The CJ Cup Byron Nelson is packing TONS of new food options for the first time ever — including Korean cuisine through bibigo, a food brand within CJ Group, the tournament’s sponsor, and Smash Burger Tacos.

CJ Group is a South Korean-based company, so it is only right that some of the new food at The Byron Nelson be Korean.

Additionally, the Smash Burger Tacos will be available at the Salesmanship Club of Dallas and all proceeds will go to the Momentous Institute, an organization that provides innovative mental health services, education, and professional training to strengthen children, families, and communities.

It’s all for a great cause!

The CJ Cup Byron Nelson

The CJ Cup Byron Nelson runs from May 2 to May 5 in terms of play, and the field is packed with stars, including last year’s winner Jason Day, fan favorite Joel Dahmen, CJ Group sponsored players Sungjae Im and Hun An Byeong, Major Champion Jordan Spieth, and plenty of others.

You can check out the whole field here.
