Cobra Debuts Limited Edition DARKSPEED Volition Driver

Now that the dust has settled on most of the 2024 equipment launches, OEMs are starting to debut special or limited edition variants of those same models.

Indeed, TaylorMade recently debuted copper-finish P770 and P790 irons, and now, Cobra is bringing its patriotic offering: the limited edition DARKSPEED featuring a Volition America-themed finish.

In honor of American military heroes, this limited edition DARKSPEED features groundbreaking aerodynamic shaping, a re-engineered PWR-BRIDGE, and advanced PWRSHELL H.O.T. Face technology—all of which have made the DARKSPEED one of this year’s top drivers.

The new DARKSPEED Volition America driver also features a patriotic red, white and blue color scheme complete with Bald Eagle and American flag sole graphics as well as matching headcover and striking silver crown. A portion of all proceeds from the COBRA x Volition America driver will go directly to the Folds of Honor Foundation, which supports the families of fallen American military heroes by providing educational scholarships.

The adjustable weighting system in the DARKSPEED Volition America drivers allows players to tune the club to adjust forgiveness, launch angle, and spin.

The LS model, aimed at faster swingers who create higher spin rates, features three weight ports that house two 3g weights and one 12g weight: two in the front and a third back weight position. The 12g weight can be placed in the heel or toe to fine-tune fade bias or in the back to add spin and forgiveness. The X model, which is designed to fit the widest range of players, features a back weight and a second front weight position, allowing players to optimize ball flight.

The DARKSPEED Volition America driver also features a MULTI-MATERIAL CHASSIS with LIGHTWEIGHT CARBON CROWN AND SOLE PLATE, as well as a reinforced titanium frame to create optimal weight distribution and maximum stability. The carbon fiber crown is 30% thinner, allowing more weight to be placed low and forward in the PWR-BRIDGE structure. Re-engineered PWR-BRIDGE Weighting features a suspended weight that is positioned lower and more forward, resulting in faster ball speed. A 13% larger PWRSHELL face insert with H.O.T. Face Technology maximizes speed across the hitting area. The face design is optimized using machine learning to increase ball speed efficiency.

The DARKSPEED Volition America drivers come with a matching limited edition head cover along with a patriotic color-scheme Project X HZDRUS GEN 4 Black shaft in choice of X, S or R flex and 9- and 10.5-degree loft options.
