Cobra Golf’s New AIR-X Driver and Woods are Designed to Bring Your Scores Down
Cobra Golf is launching a new lineup of drivers and woods that are designed to bring your scores down with more forgiveness and improved distances, especially if you have a moderate swing speed and a smooth tempo.
The new AIR-X driver and fairway woods are being launched today by Cobra, and they feature new innovations and designs when compared to past AIR-X clubs.
Cobra used new technology to “help players with smooth tempos and average to moderate speeds improve both distance and accuracy via easier launch, higher trajectories, and a straighter ball flight.”

Speed increases and better accuracy have been improved with the following tech advances in this year’s lineup of AIR-X clubs:
- H.O.T. Face Technology – A 15% thinner H.O.T. Face Insert provides even more speed and distance than the previous AIR-X driver.
- Lightweight Design – At just 290g, including a 41g grip and 50g shaft, the AIR-X driver is approximately 40g lighter than a standard-weight Aerojet driver, making it easier to swing for average and moderate-speed players.
- Offset Design – An offset hosel encourages a square clubface at impact to reduce a slice or create a draw, as well as easier launch and straighter, higher trajectory shots.
- Back/Heel Weight – A 26g weight has been added to the back and heel of the club head (13g in each area) to provide improved MOI (over 5000 g/cm2) and forgiveness, create more heel bias, encourage higher launch, and reduce slice spin.
Adding things like weights to manipulate spin for players has been a strong marketing ploy for golf OEMs in the past few years. However, Cobra is going to default with this setting, which is geared to help reduce spin that is common among higher-handicapped players.
It also features a low-profile design that promotes a lower center of gravity and features a strong offset to promote square contact and straighter shots.
The lineup of Cobra AIR-X Drivers and Fairways is available below. They are also available as stand-alone products and 12-piece sets, a suitable and convenient solution for those getting into golf for the first time:
