Collin Morikawa Killed LIV Rumors in the Most Hilarious Way Possible
Prior to last week’s U.S. Open, Collin Morikawa opined about the media frenzy regarding who might be the latest PGA Tour pros to jump to the LIV Golf Invitational Series.
“Who doesn’t like gossip, right?” Morikawa said at Brookline. “But it also becomes a distraction, and you don’t want to be focused on this or that. You want to be focused on playing golf.”
He woke up Tuesday morning directly in the crosshairs.
Just your #11 money winner on PIP here to say good morning to everyone! Last week at my press conference, I said the media loves creating drama. Sure enough, I woke up this morning to everyone thinking I’m next. Not to say I told you so but…I told you so. pic.twitter.com/4G1vIWOqGQ

The world’s fourth-ranked golfer and defending Open Championship winner then quickly played rumor-killer.
To state for the record, once again, you all are absolutely wrong. I’ve said it since February at Riviera that I’m here to stay on the @PGATOUR and nothing has changed. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got some cereal to pour in my milk

No doubt the announcement pleased PGA Tour officials and players alike, but Max Homa—who has won twice this season—couldn’t get past the last sentence.
Happy to hear as Collin is the man IF this is true. And that’s a big if. Almost impossible to trust a man who pours the milk first and cereal second. https://t.co/wz2TuvteLq

Justin Thomas also quickly weighed in.
You going milk first is more of a concern than you going anywhere…

Buried in all this good-natured ribbing is the fact that Morikawa is staying on the PGA Tour, as his jumping to LIV would’ve sent shock waves through the sport as a star player whose best days are likely ahead of him.
As for the pouring cereal into a bowl of milk, I guess Morikawa will have something else to talk to the media about at his next press conference!
