COPIED LOGO?: Pinehurst and Pasatiempo Twitter Beefing

You would think there’d be plenty of room in this world for top tier golf courses. However, this weekend brought another variant of the classic East Coast vs. West Coast rivalry:

Pasatiempo Golf Club (Santa Cruz, CA), the favorite course of Augusta’s mastermind Alister MacKenzie, fired off a shot this weekend at Pinehurst Resort (Pinehurst, NC) and its recently released spring-themed logo for The Cradle.

The resemblance is evident, but Pinehurst made sure to draw a line in the sand when it reminded Pasatiempo that it wasn’t even a drawing on the map while Pinehurst had been open for more than 30 years.

Additionally, Pinehurst’s “Pine Lad” can be spotted throughout the resort’s history. But he really became a more recognized figurehead with the opening of The Cradle short course in 2017.
