Detroit Lions and Rickie Fowler Team Up at Lions Facilities

This week the PGA Tour is in Detroit at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. They are playing at Detroit Golf Club, which gave Rickie Fowler a unique opportunity to play golf at the Lions practice facility.

Jared Goff and Amani Oruwariye of the Detroit Lions played alongside Long Drive Champion Maurice Allen and Rickie Fowler.

Short Par 3

As Fowler alludes to, it is a nice spot for players to decompress after a tough day. One can only imagine the contests and bets that might happen on this short 119 par 3. Nonetheless, a great idea. However, some excellent golf is being played this week in Detroit.

Tournament Update

Not much has changed on the top of the leaderboard other than Taylor Pendrith taking a shot lead over Tony Finau at -15. Finau is looking to build upon his win last week to capture his 4th PGA Tour victory, while Pendrith is looking for his first. A win for Taylor Pendrith would boost him from 96th to 34th on the FedEx Cup Points.

Young Ties Course Record

Cameron Young did tie the course record firing a 63 to put him 5 shots off the lead. The impressive play continues after his excellent 2nd place finish at the 150th open.
