Breaking: DoorDash Driver Earns PGA TOUR Card
There’s a common misconception that all professional golfers get to go home to their lakefront mansion in a Bentley after each weekend of golf. That’s simply not the case. In fact, other than the top players on TOUR, most pro golfers are grinders, and sometimes even have to take second jobs just for supplementary income to get by.

Korn Ferry journeyman David Skinns’ path to earning his TOUR card this week is something similar to the latter scenario. In fact, the 39-year-old Englishman was forced to work as a bartender and a DoorDash delivery driver just to scrape by during the pandemic.
Despite Skinns having to sacrifice some practice time for a steady paycheck, it was his attitude of perseverance that paid off big. This resulted in a win this week on the Korn Ferry Tour, at the Pinnacle Bank Championsip, the second of his 16-year-long professional career. The win gained him the necessary points to pop him into the Top-25 and that elusive PGA TOUR membership card.

“It was stressful on me, and it was stressful on my family,” Skinns said to GolfDigest. “I always believed I could win this week.”
Stressful indeed, but the years of grinding and working other jobs has finally paid off for the Korn Ferry vet.
“It’s unreal. It’s been a lot of years to hear those words,” he added about reaching the PGA Tour.
