Dustin Johnson Admits LIV Move Cost Him a Ryder Cup Spot

In a recent interview, Johnson said he “would have made the team” if he was playing on the PGA Tour. 👀https://t.co/rHTjy9cuSf

He is a man of few words, who stayed relatively quiet throughout the early days of LIV, but was probably the biggest name signed in the first few weeks.
DJ admitted to not having the best year, but figured it was still good enough to represent his country in Rome.
“If I would have been playing on [the PGA Tour], yeah, I would have made the team. Do I think I can help the U.S. team? Absolutely.”
Dustin Johnson is 100% correct.
If he was playing on the PGA Tour, he would have made the Ryder Cup team this year.
Patrick Reed, Brooks Koepka, and Talor Gooch would have also qualified.

Captain Zach Johnson explained that a lack of opportunity to watch LIV golfers affected their chances at making the team, meaning it was all on the performance in the Majors.
Only Brooks Koepka proved his worth in the four events, with DJ’s T10 at the US Open his only noteworthy performance.
He had a good track record, and has been part of US Ryder Cup teams dating back to 2010. This time around, he won’t tee it up; begging the question: Will DJ ever play Ryder Cup golf again?
