Today, Srixon took to Twitter to announce an all new, eye catching Q-STAR TOUR DIVIDE ball, and it’s quite something to behold.

Yes, you’re seeing that right. The ball is seemingly split right down the middle, aimed at helping with putter alignment and other areas where visuals may provide some extra help.

Offered in a striking red-yellow color combination, the ball also features a matte urethane cover, and a 3-piece construction. Some equipment junkies may see similarities to the Ping Eye golf ball of old, which also featured a split, two-tone look.

“Colors, and matte colors, in particular, have just been so popular lately,” he says. “We wanted to do something that would stand out from a color perspective but also give golfers the added performance benefits of a urethane ball.” Srixon Marketing Director Brian Schielke said in an interview with MyGolfSpy. “You get a lot of feedback when you’re putting or hitting chips or pitches. You can even see the ball spinning off the tee, which surprised me.”

Srixon made sure to cover their bases on durability as well. As opposed to a traditional painted golf ball, the color pigments (both red and yellow) are infused directly into the urethane cover, so that the vibrant finish doesn’t wear as much after repeated use. If you’re paying for a premium ball, you definitely don’t want to see the colors wearing off after one round, and Srixon took the time to make sure that this isn’t the case with the Q-STAR TOUR DIVIDE

The ball is categorized as a soft ball, with mid-to-high launch characteristics. Golfers can put this ball to the test starting on April 15. The Srixon Q-STAR TOUR DIVIDE will retail for the price of $32.99 per dozen.
