When golfers think of Titleist, they immediately think their premium irons, Vokey wedges and Scotty Cameron’s putters. But the fact remains that the new TSi2 and TSi3 have been a HUGE success for golfers on the PGA TOUR and amateur circuit. Indeed, the TSi drivers were the most played driver at Winged Foot for the 2020 U.S. Open, 2020 Masters, and European Tour’s season-ending DP World Tour Championship.

So to complete the TSi driver-fairway wood knock-out combination, Titleist is now releasing the TSi2 and TSi3 hybrids:

Before getting into the tech specs, it’s important to note that Titleist views hybrids as scoring clubs and not rescue clubs. In other words, when you have a TSi hybrid in your hands, Titleist is looking to set you up for that birdie putt.

So what separates the two models?

Well, the TSi2 is the “workhorse” hybrid that maximizes performance by providing high launch and easy distance for players with a sweeping delivery. The larger, classic profile is designed for players who prefer the look of a fairway metal.

On the other hand, the TSi3 features a compact, squarer toe and very little face progression. And with the help of the SureFit CG Track Technology system, like the TSi3 fairway metals, fitters and manipulate adjustability towards the toe or heel for ball flight bias. The TSi3 hybrids, designed with direct feedback from Titleist tour staff, offer mid-launch, precise distance, and iron-like control, especially for players who hit down on the golf ball.

“One of the key points of difference in fitting and performance between the new Titleist TSi hybrids and the competition is the level of adjustability we offer, especially in the TSi3,” said Josh Talge, Vice President, Titleist Golf Club Marketing. “We all stress that golfers should be custom fit for drivers and irons, so why not hybrids? The golfer may need or want to increase or decrease loft, add a degree upright or make the club flatter. Those adjustability options are available with the new TSi hybrids and we think that, in combination with outstanding performance, sets these hybrids apart.”

The value provided by the unmatched level of adjustability provided by Titleist’s SureFit system cannot be understated. Indeed, most manufacturers allow adjustability of loft a degree or two in either direction, and preset lie adjustability. Titleist, meanwhile, offers 16 independent loft and lie settings, not including the additional adjustability provided by the SureFit CG Track.

The importance of adjustability is further emphasized just by looking in Tour pro’s bags. J.J. Van Wezenbeeck, Director of Player Promotion, estimates that nearly 60% of current players are gaming their hybrid in a non-neutral setting.

“That is a really important statistic,” said Talge. “Given the significant number of players adjusting their hybrids at the highest level of the game, the need is even greater as you go down the pyramid. It is further proof we are improving the options and opportunities for all golfers – many of whom prefer or require hybrids – and helps them to play better and enjoy the game more.”

The TSi2 and TSi3 hybrids are available for fitting TODAY, meaning golfers can experience the new Titleist TSi hybrids by attending a Titleist Fitting and Trial event (including Titleist Thursdays) being held at hundreds of locations nationwide

The TSi Hybrids are available in the following variants:

  • TSi2 – RH: 18º, 21º, and 24º | LH: 18º, 21º and 24º
  • TSi3 – RH: 18º and 20º | LH: 18º and 20º

Notably, golfers looking to upgrade from their Titleist TS, 917, 915, 913 and 910 hybrids can just upgrade to the new TSi head, as the SureFit Hosel is compatible between all models.
