Built with the modern golfer in mind, the new CODECHAOS series is being offered in both men’s and women’s styles and will be available worldwide on Jan. 31, 2020 (although certain lucky attendees of the PGA Show were fortunate enough to win a free pair during the Show).

Following in the steps of the limited-edition Collection Ø, CODECHAOS is the latest product from adidas Golf that breaks down traditional stereotypes. CODECHAOS taps into the mindset of those who prefer to set themselves apart, be different, and create their own way around the course.

“Golf continues to evolve and is in an exciting phase right now where the traditions of the game and how it can be played are all being challenged,” said Masun Denison, global footwear director, adidas Golf. “We’re excited about this movement which has inspired us to break down barriers and create unique footwear and apparel for anyone that picks up a club. CODECHAOS is meant to challenge what a golf shoe can look and feel like while still delivering top-notch performance to all golfers whenever or wherever they play.”

The aesthetic of CODECHAOS is progressive, deliberate, and meant to blur the lines by giving a connected look with the ground.

Each model features a high-technical spikeless outsole that blends a soft, yet durable, rubber outsole with a first-of-its-kind TPU insert. This proprietary traction system – Twistgrip – was developed by evaluating heat maps in swing studies that was specifically focused on the way golfers distribute and shift their weight throughout the swing.

adidas was able to determine exactly where traction was needed most and what lug shapes would provide the best grip, regardless of conditions. Based on a machine test that used grip-predictive analytics, coupled with testing in real-life scenarios, adidas landed on this unique grip configuration to provide maximum traction, even for the guys that are swinging 120 MPH+ like DJ, Xander Schauffele and Jon Rahm.

The new upper is also brand new, featuring a multi-layer mesh that gives CODECHAOS shoes a unique texture while enhancing durability and breathability, at an extremely lightweight construction. adidas also layered the different materials in a manner allowing the shoe to provide waterproof protection and keeping players’ feet dry.

No adidas shoe would be complete without its infamous BOOST cushioning support, providing all-around comfort and energy return, along with a few models that will come equipped with Boa technology.

Finally, for the golfer that needs the lightest weight shoe possible, the CODECHAOS Sport is built on a rubber spikeless outsole for enhanced versatility. This shoe provides golfers with another option that still has the waterproof feature and a mixture of both BOOST and Bounce cushioning to keep them comfortable with every step.

The CODECHAOS line is comprised of three different models—CODECHAOS ($150), CODECHAOS Boa ($180) and CODECHAOS Sport ($130)—and will be available in a variety of colors available starting Jan. 31, 2020 on adidas.com.
