First look: The New TEC TEC TEC ULT-X Range Finder
The rapid increase in technology has made an incredibly difficult game a little bit easier for players of all skill levels. One tool that is becoming more and more affordable are laser range finders. I’ve used the TEC TEC TEC GPS watch in the past and I was impressed with it.
So having that success I was eager to try out their ULT-X range finder. There are a ton of options out there and the technology on these devices keeps getting better. This range finder is boasting an accuracy up to 0.3 yards and has a distance range up to 1093 yards (that’s over half a mile) – that’s pretty nuts.
I’m not playing any hole that long but if I head over to Satsuki Golf club (hole 7 is 964 yards), I’ll be good to go.

Along with the standard yardage you need in a laser range finder the ULT-X offers a slope and Tournament legal setting. It comes with a highly visible faceplate to ensure that your rangefinder is tournament legal – which is important. Simply pull the back of the device out so it shows yellow for the slope setting or close it down when it’s tournament time. There are no complicated button combination, so honestly it’s super easy to use.

The ULT-X has one other feature that I think is pretty cool. When you find the flag, it will lock onto it and buzz. It’s like having a missile tracking system in your hands so you have confidence firing at the flag.
TecTecTec ULT-X Range Finder Unboxing
Last year I did a review on the ULT-G watch by TecTecTec (@tectectecusa) and I was impressed. This time I’m giving their slope reading, tournament legal, laser range finder a go but first… LETS UNBOX IT!
The unit comes with everything you need right out of the box. The unit is just under half a pound and it includes a durable (water proof) carrying pouch, a CR2 battery, Wrist strap, microfiber cleaning cloth, quick start guide and a 24 month total warranty.
The ULT-X will run you around $220 on Amazon. At that price point the ULT-X lands right in the middle of the pack for affordability. How does it preform? That is still TBD but we will find that out soon enough with the full review coming soon.
