Excited to stop by the Titleist booth this week in Orlando to set my eyes on these new T400 irons.

The new Titleist T100 irons have become the most played irons this season on the PGA Tour, helping power Lanto Griffin, Cameron Smith and even Justin Thomas to victory at the Houston Open, Sony Open and Sentry Tournament of Champions and the CJ Cup, respectively.

Unfortunately, however, most of us will never have the ball striking prowess of a Titleist PGA Tour Staffer and, as a result, our game could probably benefit from clubs that help support our skill level.

Accordingly, Titleist has developed the new T400 irons for moderate swing speed golfers by creating clubs that are designed to launch easily, fly far and provide ample forgiveness.

“T400 is the super distance Titleist iron. This club is engineered to get the ball in the air and launch it as far as possible, even when the strike isn’t perfect,” Josh Talge, Vice President of Marketing, Titleist Golf Clubs.

“There are so many golfers, particularly players with moderate swing speeds, who can benefit from this technology. T400 gets the absolute most out of your swing while still providing the playability of a Titleist iron along with that look, sound and feel that dedicated players demand.”

The T400 is packed with tons of forgiveness due to its an advanced split sole design that provides optimal turf interaction for a smooth and easy strike and a hollow head construction that produces an extremely high MOI to maximize forgiveness on off-center shots.

And to help provide plenty of power, the T400 features high-density tungsten weighting (up to 100g per head) to create a low CG that works in conjunction with a super-thin forged SUP-10 L-Face Insert (5-7 irons) to produce explosive ball flight off the turf.

Further supporting the moderate swing speed golfer is the premium lightweight graphite shaft power the T400. The Mitsubishi Fubuki MV (Maximum Velocity) IR (Mid-High launch, mid spin) produces higher ball speed through its ultra-lightweight iron-specific graphite design. Alternatively, the steel True Temper AMT Red (High launch, mid-high spin) offers tour-proven ascending mass technology, with lighter long iron shafts for increased launch and speed and heavier short iron shafts for control.

Regardless of which shaft you opt for, the T400 will equipped the Golf Pride Tour Velvet 360 Lite+ when it goes on sale March 27th (with fittings as early as February 27th). The T400s with the True Temper AMT Red steel shafts will retail at $185.50 per club (or $1,299 for a set of 7 clubs), while the Mitsubishi Fubuki MV IR graphite shafts will go for $199.50 per club (or $1,399 for a set of 7 clubs).

Ever since golf became a competitive outlet, nothing brings Eric more joy than a well struck 4 iron. And despite living in NYC, Eric makes it a priority to work on his game and fitness during the week, along with a round or two over the weekend. Fortunately, he’s got a very understanding fiancé who (for the time being) accepts him and his obsession. Follow Eric on IG @hozel_rocket.
