If you happen to be in the market for new equipment, one of the hardest aspects is basing your buying decision on the 15 minutes in the store simulator and whether it spit out some numbers you liked.

Unfortunately, however, nothing will ever replace testing new equipment on the course and finding out if that new driver can help needle that narrow treeline, if those irons can stick the Par 3s on your regular course, or if those wedges can perform out of the bunkers.

Similarly, golf technology from the premium manufacturers like Bushnell and Garmin have started offering some incredible, industry-unique features in their new rangefinders and GPS devices, but so have their prices increased.  However, while prices have increased and caused consumers to debate and really evaluate that purchase before pulling the trigger, golfers are still forced to make their decision blindly and without any first-hand experience to see if that new technology complements their playing style or functions as they hope and expect.

Global Golf—building on the success of its successful Utry program that allows try the newest drivers, fairway woods, hybrids, irons, wedges and putters risk-free—will now allow golfers for a mere $25 to select the GPS or Rangefinder—which currently includes Bushnell’s Pro XE and Hybrid rangefinders and Garmin’s Approach S62 GPS watch (with more additions expected in the near future)—they would like to test out on globalgolf.com/u-try.

After 14 days of actually testing the GPS or Rangefinder on the course, golfers can then choose to either keep the device and pay the current list price, minus the $25 trial fee, or return it with a prepaid shipping label.

“The response to the Utry® program continues to be positive and it has inspired us to broaden the portfolio of products,” says Ed Byman, CEO of Global Value Commerce, Global Golf’s parent company. “Now, golfers can test premier GPS and Rangefinders from the comfort of their home course and not experience time and usage constraints normally associated with the demo process.”

Furthermore, while many retails stores are closed and many individuals conscious and concerned about the COVID pandemic, it’s important to note that Utry is the only safe option for trying brand new equipment, with products arriving in poly bags inside the shipping box.
