Golf Fans Everywhere Looking for a Possible ‘The Match 3.0’

At this point we are a few days passed the Match 2.0 and I have to be honest. My feelings about it haven’t changed about how much I loved it. This was the Match we expected the first time but didn’t get. It felt like 4 buddies playing a round of golf and we were just along for the ride. I even had a moment where I thought I could beat Tom Brady in a sport. At least until he holed out with backspin from 150 out. (Dream Crushed)

The best thing about the Match 2.0 was how much money they raised for charity – $20 Million Dollars!  They put together a nice formula for the event that blended sports entertainment with charity and it simply worked. Not to mention Justin Thomas was a natural on course reporter.

Like anything that is successful and entertaining we get hit with this natural thought progression. When is it coming back and who’s going to play next? There are already talks that this event could become a semi regular thing with other celebrities. Well known athletes like Michael Jordan, Steph Curry and Tony Romo are known to be big time golfers.

Along with entertainment giants like Larry David and Bill Murray you can count on viewers tuning in to watch these guys fail or succeed.  Imagine Jordan tossing out $1000 dollar bets?

If I had to pick the next match, I would choose Brooks Koepka and Steph Curry vs Brandel Chamblee and Michael Jordan. That would be entertaining as hell but I’m not sure Brooks and Brandel would make it all 18. Who would you want to see tee it up in “The Match 3.0”?

Ed started playing golf when he was 18. It started out as a hobby and something he liked to do but by 2014 it had turned into a full blown obsession. Since then Ed has committed himself to improving and learning more about the game. He doesn’t work in the golf industry, he’s not a teaching pro, he’s a guy who just loves the game and enjoys sharing his thoughts with others who share the same passion.
