Good Good, the golf content creation team, is officially making a move on becoming a part of TGL, the simulator golf league that has taken over Tuesday nights on ESPN+.

The group announced on Monday that it had officially obtained an ownership stake in Los Angeles Golf Club (LAGC), which includes team members Colin Morikawa, Sahith Theegala, Justin Rose, and Tommy Fleetwood.

The move is a monumental indication of the power of golf content creation franchises, as several other members of the YouTube golf space have initiated ownership in everything from equipment manufacturers to clothing brands. This, in itself, is perhaps the most groundbreaking move any content team has made:

Good Good said in its announcement of the ownership stake:

“Good Good Golf is excited to announce its acquisition of an ownership stake in Los Angeles Golf Club (LAGC), a founding franchise of TGL. This move marks a significant step in Good Good’s mission to grow the game of golf and bring fresh, engaging content to fans worldwide. By joining forces with LAGC, we’re blending our digital-first approach with GL’s cutting-edge format to create a next-level golf experience. We can’t wait to showcase this partnership through new content, collaborations, and competitive play that pushes the boundaries of the sport. Stay tuned for more updates as we embark on this exciting journey with Los Angeles Golf Club and TGL!”

The move is not only strategic from Good Good’s perspective but also from TGL and LAGC.

Most notably, the influence that golf content has had on not only the growth of the game in the past several years but also how it has impacted viewership on the large tours has truly been a disruption, to say the least.

The PGA TOUR, LIV Golf, and TGL have all adopted a newfound perspective with content creators. It has developed into a rich and fruitful relationship for all sides, but it is recognition that the way the game is perceived by audiences has changed drastically.

While Good Good is among the most skilled golf content creation groups, its members are far from good enough to reach the professional ranks. This hasn’t made viewers or golf fans shy away from the type of entertainment they are getting, which has routinely generated more interest than the PGA TOUR or LIV Golf.

This shift in interest from high-quality play to high-quality entertainment has every tour and professional golf organization rethinking its strategy. Evidently, TGL saw an opportunity here.
