Graham DeLaet Shoots Back at Disgruntled Fantasy Owner

In the last few years, daily fantasy sports have changed how different sports are viewed and enjoyed. Golf has not been an exception to the rule and some players take their fantasy lineups a little too seriously.

On the top daily fantasy sites, Drafkings and FanDuel, golf is one of the highest potential pools out of all the fantasy sports you can play, especially if a major is in progress. For those unfamiliar, each site allows a certain salary cap to build a team and lists golfers at certain salaries. The better team you draft, the higher the payout. And any fans who drafted Graham DeLaet won’t be expecting a high payout.

Apparently, one fantasy connoisseur drafted DeLaet to his team for the Northern Trust Open hoping for a strong performance. DeLaet rather was forced to withdraw from the event on Friday with a back injury. Because DeLaet will not be participating in the rest of the event, any player who drafted him will get a score of zero for him.

One fan, in particular, was not happy that DeLaet decided to call it quits for the week. That fan took to Twitter to voice his frustration, claiming that in the past two weeks he has had a player withdraw from the tournament he was picking them for and sarcastically thanking DeLaet.

DeLaet decided that he would shut down the fantasy player by telling him that he didn’t care and that the fan should “get a life.”

It’s a shame that DeLaet had to deal with the Twitter troll but both probably ran into some bad luck this week. DeLaet wasn’t able to participate in one of the last events of the season and the fan who picked him probably missed out on some solid points. DeLaet was going into the event on a hot streak that included a top ten finish at the PGA Championship.

This story just goes to show how frustrating fantasy golf can be but no matter how frustrated you get, it’s probably not smart to take out your frustrations on the actual players.
