Greg Norman, the commissioner of LIV Investments who is backing the Saudi Golf League, has sent a letter to the PGA TOUR players stating that they “will not stop” trying to create a new golf league.

In the letter, Norman included that the proposed Saudi golf league will run events hold events in addition to the players’ current schedule, instead of forcing them to choose one or the other.

Norman also made it clear that the league won’t have just individual events but also team style events to “bring out the emotion and rivalry that fans love in golf and other sports.”

Norman wants the start-up league to appeal to younger audiences and also provide more opportunities for its players.

In the letter Norman wrote:

“We may start with a modest number of players, but we won’t stay that way for long. I fully understand some players may choose not to play with us right away.”

“You should know that we are launching, and we will continue to drive this vision forward. We will not stop. We believe in our mission and will announce information about our first events tomorrow.”

With that letter going out yesterday it should be today that the first events are announced. This is the first set in stone date that the league has given us on when they will make an announcement. Prior to this it was all rumor and speculation like how the list of players was supposed to be announced last week at THE PLAYERS.

Although almost every big name player on the PGA TOUR has said that they will be staying on the PGA TOUR and not jumping ship, with Norman’s clarification that these events won’t interfere with the PGA TOUR it’ll be interesting to see what players have to say.
