Here is My DIY GOLF Simulator Experience with Carl’s Place
We all want a home simulator. Somewhere we can disconnect, work on our game, rehearse upcoming rounds or play somewhere we dream of stepping foot. The problem with making these dreams a reality is the root of all evil: money.
It can be hard to keep costs in check when building a home simulator; launch monitor, gaming computer and projector are necessary, bigger ticket items. But one place you can cut costs without compromising quality is an impact screen.

Carl’s Place is your one-stop vendor for all things golf simulator, offering everything from FlightScope Mevo’s to Foresight GC Quads. But what will appeal to the cost-conscious builder is their newly updated DIY C-Series Golf Simulator Enclosure Kits.

While providing you with an impact screen and enclosure, which can be sized for any variety of spaces, Carl’s Place gives you the option to purchase the electrical conduit piping directly from them or you can source it yourself (fortunately, you can find this at the local Home Depot, Lowe’s or any other hardware store). Equipped with a tubing cutter (~$10) and your favorite six pack (~$15), you can knock out the setup in a few hours. If you’d rather save the hassle, Carl’s Place can cut and ship the piping with the rest of your kit.
And while the C-Series start at $1,000 (subject to sizing and upgrade options, like side net extensions or ceiling baffles), these come in at fractions of the costs of getting a professionally built enclosure system that could easily turn your home simulator into a cost prohibitive plan.
That said, the quality of the C-Series easily exceeds its pricing. Despite practicing and hitting countless metal wood, iron and wedge shots (the last of which being the most abusive on an impact screen due to the heat generated from high spin shots rubbing against the screen), the C-Series that I have in my garage is in great condition. The impact screen doesn’t show any sort of wear and tear or dimpling, and the enclosure hasn’t started to tear or fray (despite a few rogue shots will rehearing some swing drills).

As is true with all things golf, it’s best enjoyed with friends. And whether I’m playing simulated rounds with friends or watching a movie with my daughter, the Carl’s Place DIY C-Series Golf Simulator Enclosure Kit enhances the experience for all, and that makes it worth every penny in my book.
