The seventh edition of the made-for-TV golf event, The Match, takes place Saturday night from Pelican Golf Club in suburban Tampa, Florida.

It features Tiger Woods, who hasn’t played in one of these since The Match II in May 2020, and three others playing in this event for the first time: Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas, and Jordan Spieth.

The Match:

Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy vs. Justin Thomas & Jordan Spieth from Pelican Golf Club. The competition benefits those impacted by Hurricane Ian in September, which impacted the Fort Myers area—about an hour south of the event’s location.

The Format:

The event will be contested over 12 holes with a best-ball format. Each golfer will play his own ball, and the best score among the two will be counted. The scoring is done via match-play format, with the winner of the hole getting a point.

Odds:

Woods and McIlroy opened as -120 favorites, but things have shifted—likely due to the health of Woods—with Thomas and Spieth now favored at -125 on DraftKings. The business partners who have 19 major wins between them are slight underdogs at +105.

Woods says he has no restrictions on hitting the ball, and he will be using a cart to avoid aggravating his foot injury. He could not play in the Hero World Challenge last week because he said that the plantar fasciitis makes it too painful to walk the course.

How to Watch:

The match will begin under the lights at 7 p.m. Eastern time on Saturday, Dec. 10. There will be a one-hour pregame show beginning at 6 p.m. ET.

It will be broadcast live on TNT, with simulcasts taking place on TBS and TruTV.

You can access TNT through a traditional cable or satellite subscription or through apps like YouTube TV, Sling, Hulu Live TV, and DirecTV Stream.

If you have a subscription to any of those services, you can also log in to the TNT app on a smartphone, tablet, or streaming device like Fire TV to watch live.
